Kandy is one of the most celebrated cities of Sri Lanka as it is one that has a long standing history and has many culturally and historically important landmarks and sites. Today an Urban city- Kandy was the last kingdom before Sri Lanka fell into the hands of the British.
Thaprobane Villa, Kandy is located within one of Kandy’s most prestigious gated communities - Victoria Range Bungalows. Little away from the hustle and bustle of the Kandy city center, one would stumble upon Digana , a suburb of Kandy. Victoria range Bungalows are located overlooking the breath taking Dumbara Valley and is one of the first residential housing projects in the area.

The master bedroom comes with en-suite facility while there is also another bathroom available with hot water facilities. We also have a spacious living room that has cable tv connection, as well as all our guests, are offered complimentary WIFI.
Our friendly and attentive staff will be more than happy to cook for you a great Sri Lankan meal. There is also a public restaurant within the premises where guests could enjoy a meal or order food to be delivered. We also offer our guests the luxury of using some of the facilities offered to the residence such as access to the infinity pool looking far into the valleys. The club house located here allows guests to use facilities available such as access to the gymnasium, tennis and squash courts at an additional charge.
Kandy is home to one of the most venerated and celebrated Buddhist temples on the island, The Dalada Maligawa. The temple is home to the sacred tooth relic and all year round thousands of pilgrims as well as tourist visit the temple. The architecture of the temple is admired by many and the temple sits overlooking the Kandy lake. The whole city lights up during the temple’s annual festival known as the Esala Perahera. During this vibrant and colorful festival which takes place in the month of July, the tooth relic is taken on the procession and also there are dancers and other entertainers that take part in the pageant.
The royal palace is also another place worth a visit as this was the last royal residence of Sri Lanka. Located adjacent to the temple of the tooth relic most of the area is currently in ruins. Once a part of a large palace complex which included a King’s Palace, audience hall, Queen’s bathing pavilion among many other chambers was the home to Sri Lanka’s last king Sri Wickramarajasinghe.
The Peradeniya Botanical Gardens is another place to check out when in Kandy. This was is the largest botanical gardens in Sri Lanka spanning to approximately 150 acres. Home to over 4000 different species of plants this is a great place to stroll around and admire the 10 000 or so members of the gardens. A great place to enjoy with the whole family.
Udawattakele sanctuary and the Hanthane plains is great for those who want to get closer to nature. Udawatte kale is a great spot for bird watching. Hanthana mountain range consists of seven peaks and offers panoramic views into the far away eucalyptus forests.
Other places to have a nook around would be the Lankathilake Vihara, which is a fine example for the Kandyan art and architecture as well as the Trinity Chapel.
